BUILDING PERMITS

In Chile, to start a construction, the company or individual needs to have a construction permit or a provisional permit (when the works exceed the ground level) which are granted by the municipalities of the commune, specifically in a department called “Dirección de Obras Municipales”. There are a few steps to follow before obtaining the final permission and the process can seem complicated for a foreigner without the knowledge about the necessary Chilean procedures.

At the law offices of Simon Marin we advise both national and foreign clients to obtain the required permits to build in accordance with the country’s laws.
